Welcome to the Arts Academy
Welcome to the homepage of the Arts Academy at Summit! We are excited that you have taken the time to learn more about our school.
The Arts Academy at Summit is Canton City School’s kindergarten through grade 8 magnet school. Our student body consists of arts and high ability students. Kindergarten through grade 3 arts students are chosen to come here by a lottery that is held in the spring. Arts students in grades 4-8 attend our school based on the results of a performance in one of the arts areas (visual arts, vocal music, or instrumental music). The high ability students are part of a district wide program named Canton’s High Ability Program (CHAP). Potential CHAP students are assessed in order to determine their placement into the program.
The Arts Academy at Summit offers a unique project-based and service learning opportunity for students. It is summarized best in our mission:
Students will inquire, explore, create, and perform through an integrated arts and academic program to raise achievement and develop character.
Feel free to browse our website or contact us if you would like to learn more about our unique learning environment.
